FAQ: How do I import existing snippets from a previous version into TypeIt4Me 7?
Snippet sets you’ve already stored in iCloud while using TypeIt4Me 6.x.x will automatically show up in TypeIt4Me 7 when the iCloud sync option is turned on in the app’s settings.
Otherwise, if your existing TypeIt4Me 6 snippet sets are stored locally, under “Sets on this Mac,” you’ll need to locate them in Finder then manually drag the set file(s) into TypeIt4Me 7’s sidebar.
TypeIt4Me snippet set files end with a .typeit4me file extension. To get to the local sets you created in version 6:
1. Click on Go in the Finder menu bar.
2. Hold down the option key on your keyboard.
3. Click on Library when it appears in the open Go menu.
4. Navigate to Application Support > TypeIt4Me > Sets.
For more on importing files into TypeIt4Me 7 we’d recommend that you consult the Help guide, which includes videos to show how it’s done. It also explains how to go about importing data exported to CSV format from other text expansion utilities (spoiler: the process is very similar.)
