TypeIt4Me Features:

What can our text expander do for you?

TypeIt4Me is a versatile app with a powerful set of features that caters to a wide range of use cases. From computer novices to power users – there’s something here for everyone.

Abbreviate stuff you type frequently

Use TypeIt4Me to automatically expand your own personal custom-defined shorthand. Find yourself using the word “qualifications” a lot? Why not just type “quls” and let TypeIt4Me do the rest? Keep lengthy words, phrases boilerplate texts and pictures on tap, ready to insert in an instant when you need them.

Correct typos that usually trip you up

AppleSpell is limited to correcting dictionary words. Add all of your most common misspellings to your TypeIt4Me abbreviations list. Then you can type as fast as you like, leaving Typeit4me to instantly fix those mistakes as you go along. Never mistype your important Hungarian client’s name again :)

Type out past, present and future dates or times

Find dates fiddly to type and even harder to remember? Define an abbreviation that automatically inserts today’s date for you. TypeIt4Me can even perform date and time math. Use arithmetical formulae to automatically insert a date that’s, say, two weeks from now. All without you having to work out what it will be.

Expand abbreviations as they’re typed, pick snippets from a menu list, or search and insert

Don’t feel like typing abbreviations? You can open a point-and-click menu that lists all your snippets and select one to insert from there. There’s also a floating search-and-insert window you can bring up with a keyboard shortcut.

Set up placeholder prompts & fill-in-the-blanks templates with menu options

Snippets can contain placeholder prompts (“autocues”) for you to replace with variable data when a particular abbreviation expands. You can also craft more sophisticated templates with syncronised text input fields and pulldown menu options.

Sync snippet data across all the Macs you use with iCloud Drive

Got more than one Mac? It’s simple to use the same snippets on both your iMac and your MacBook Air. Keep them in sync with ease by storing your sets in iCloud Drive. TypeIt4Me can also share these snippets with the TypeIt4Me Touch notepad app for iOS and iPadOS (available separately).
